This notice explains how RiSKFiX LLP (“RiSKFiX”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit riskfix.co.uk or contact us about our fire and life-safety services. It is provided in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
RiSKFiX LLP is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Our registered office is The Venture Centre, University of Warwick Science Park, Sir William Lyons Road, Coventry, CV4 7EZ. We are registered in England & Wales (LLP no. OC407139) and with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO reg. ZB595982).

2. What we collect
- Enquiry form data — name, email, telephone, postcode, service of interest and any message you send us.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and referring URL.
- Correspondence — records of emails, calls and site-visit notes when you become a client.
3. Why we use it & our lawful basis
- Responding to enquiries — lawful basis: consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) given when you submit the form.
- Delivering services under a contract — lawful basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Compliance with fire-safety, health-and-safety and tax obligations — lawful basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Improving the website & security — lawful basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors who help us run the business, under written data-processing terms:
- Our email and productivity provider (for sending and storing correspondence).
- Our website hosting and form-submission infrastructure provider.
- Professional advisers (accountants, insurers, solicitors) where required.
- Enforcing authorities, the Fire and Rescue Service or the Building Safety Regulator where we are legally required to disclose.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become contracts: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client records and inspection reports: 7 years after the end of the contract, in line with HMRC and limitation-period requirements.
- Fire-safety records that form part of the building’s “golden thread” under the Building Safety Act 2022: retained for the life of the building or until handed to the responsible person.
6. Your rights
You have the right to: access your data; rectify inaccurate data; request erasure; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time. Contact info@riskfix.co.uk to exercise any of these rights.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. We do not use advertising cookies. The website loads Google Fonts from fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com, which may set functional cookies for font delivery.

8. International transfers
Where any processor is based outside the UK we rely on adequacy decisions or the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement to safeguard your data.

We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page.
